MahaChallenge ki maha excitement!

Finally, it’s September 9 and the big day…Amul FoodFood MahaChallenge, a show to find India’s first SuperChef, which has been in talks for quite a while now, starts today! So, what’s the show all about – this reality show consists of 2 teams with 8 participants each, mentored by Chef Harpal and Chef Vandana, and Madhuri Dixit and I were present as team leaders throughout to guide them overall. The challenges taken up by the contestants were followed by a series of elimination rounds by jury and judges, consisting of some eminent personalities from both the culinary and glamour world. At the end, there was a winner who finally got the prize – a trip for two to Italy plus a kitchen makeover from Sleek plus a chance to host a show on FoodFood plus gifts from Croma and Borosil and many more…
For more excitement and the competition, don’t forget to catch Amul FoodFood MahaChallenge, starting today, every Friday at 1 pm and 8 pm only on FoodFood, India ka favourite TV Channel.

Maha Challenge shoot begins…

Lights, camera, action!
Beginning with the marathon shoot of FoodFood’s Maha Challenge today at a studio in Dahisar. Super excitement in the air and I’m all geared up to take on the new and exciting project with the ever smiling Madhuri Dixit!
My team is also all charged up for the non-stop shoot which is going to end only on August 20, 2011. Kudos in advance to the team, as the show is just not possible without dedication from the team members.
And so the weekend also passed by in the preparations and relaxing…watched Transporters 2 yesterday and relaxed at home while munching on salads for lunch, and then went to the sets for a technical check-up. Alyona‘s sister, who’d come from Australia, was with us…so while on our way back, we decided to drop in at Goa Portuguesa Restaurant for a fabulous dinner consisting of Chicken Cafreal, Appam, Chicken Stew, Amboli and Fish Curry.
Here’s sharing some of my versions of the same…

Counting days for Maha Challenge!

Just wrapped up with the Teen Patti shoots yesterday. There are a lot of blueberry dishes alongwith simple chicken preparations and lots of warm desserts to look for in this schedule. And as I finished with this, it’s too much excitement for the upcoming and much awaited FoodFood’s Maha Challenge with Ms. Madhuri Dixit Nene. The shoots to begin from August 1, 2011 at a studio in Dahisar and will go on for almost twenty odd days. A little about the show – the show will consist of two teams with eight participants, mentored by Madhuri and me, which will be followed by normal elimination by the jury and the judges, who are yet to be finalized. Pretty hectic, I must say! But surely going to be fun with all the enthusiastic fans and a healthy competition between the teams. Eagerly looking forward to this event!
Amongst all this shoot mayhem, it just completely slipped off from my mind…it’s been almost five years since the day Mumbai was trapped in heavy rains and floods. It still gives me goosebumps thinking about that chaotic and terrible day, which all the Mumbaikars experienced and can never forget! Somethings sometimes become just too real to be true!
Coming back to the shoot sessions, Chef Harpal Singh Sokhi’s Turban Tadka is all set to roll on from July 29 to July 31, 2011. Preparations are going on in full swing for this fun-filled schedule. More to come on this one and as I end, this time, let me share some really yummy and tasty dishes…
